Pumpkin Spice Latte

Looking for a something rich in flavor to warm you up after being outside in the cold for a period of time? Try a pumpkin Spice Latte. It’s a favorite fall coffee house drink at home. It’s a fast and easy drink to make straight from home! It takes a total of 10 minutes with only 2 ingredients and yields 2 servings. All you will need is milk, canned pumpkin, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla and brewed coffee. You can also garnish the drink if desired. Start off by heating 2 cups of milk, 2 tablespoons of pumpkin and 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar, depending how sweet you want the drink, over medium heat until hot. DO NOT BOIL. Also make sure you don’t use pumpkin pie mix in the drink. Remove from the heat and stir in ½ teaspoon of the pumpkin pie spice and 1 tablespoon of vanilla along with ½ cup of hot brewed coffee. Lastly pour the mix into 2 large coffee mugs. You can also garnish the hot beverage with whipped cream dash pumpkin pie spice and 2 cinnamon sticks. Personally I prefer to garnish the beverage to add a little extra flavor and for appeal, especially if your serving to guests. Instead of using pre made pumpkin spice you can make your own. Combine 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of ground ginger, and ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg. This homemade mix will yield approximately 2 tablespoons. Also another variation of the pumpkin spice latte is to serve cold instead of hot. You want to allow it to cool and serve it over ice to make a cold refreshing pumpkin spice latte. If you like the pumpkin spice latte you can find similar seasonal recipes at www.pillsbury.com/recipes . This recipe has received nothing but excellent reviews, I extremely suggest it! ENJOY!

Cranberry Apple Pie

A touch of color and tartness sets this apple pie apart from the classic Cranberry Apple Pie. You’ll need various ingredients for the pie itself and the crumb topping alone. For the pie you’ll need refrigerated pie pastry, apples that are peeled and cored, fresh cranberries, sugar, lemon juice, and flour. Then for the crumb topping you will need: flour, sugar, cinnamon, and cold butter. Before you start to prepare the mix you always want to max sure you have enough products before you start to prepare the mix. First start off by preheating to 400 degrees and line a 9-inch
standard pie pan with the pastry. Make sure you don’t use a deep-dish pan. For the pasty all you need is one refrigerated pie pastry. Next slice 2 apples very thinly and cut them crosswise and combine them in a large mixing bowl with 2 cups of fresh cranberries. If needed thaw cranberries. Add 2/3 cups of sugar with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 ½ tablespoons of flour. Mix well. After you’ve mixed completely transfer the pie filling to the pie shell and smooth the top of the fruit. Then bake for 30 minutes. While the pie is baking, in a large mixing bowl, mix ½ cup of flour with ½ cup of sugar, and 1/5 teaspoon of cinnamon for the crumb topping. Then add 4 tablespoons of cold butter that are cut into ¼ inch pieces. You want to rub the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Lastly, after the 30 minutes is up remove the pie and reduce the temperature to 375 degrees. Spread the topping over the pie and bake it for additional 25 to 30 minutes or until the top is golden and the fruit is thickened and is bubbling around the edges. After the pie is fully cooked allow it to cool for 2 hours before serving. This delicious pie goes great after a nice thanksgiving feast and serves to 8 people. Enjoy!

Delicious Pumpkin Cupcakes

Do you need a delicious treat to go with your warm apple cider? Well I got exactly what you need right here! This recipe calls for a little more than my other recipes I have posted. You’ll need: all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, allspice, Kosher salt, large eggs, light brown sugar, unsalted butter, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree. Also make sure you have a cupcake/muffin tin. First preheat the oven to 350 degrees. While the oven is preheating line up 18 cupcake tins with cupcake liners. The best option is to use a 6-cupcake tin and a 12-cupcake tin. Next in a medium sized mixing bowl sift together 2 cups of flour, 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ½ teaspoon nutmeg, ¼ cloves, ¼ teaspoon all spice and ½ teaspoon of salt. After sifting together set aside the mixture. Then in a stand mixer, beat together 2 large eggs, 1 ½ cups of brown sugar, ½ cups of softened unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of the pumpkin puree. Mix until smooth. You want to keep the mix on low and add the flour gradually little at a time until fully incorporated. To help with this a large serving spoon works great. Next you want to divide the cupcake batter evenly between the cupcake cups and filling them about ¾ full. Allow the cupcakes to bake between 20 and 25 minutes. To find out if the cupcakes are completely done insert a toothpick in the center of the cupcake and make sure you pull out a clean toothpick. Lastly, allow 5 minutes for cooling then transfer to a cooling rack. And to top off the cupcakes frost them with Dreamy Cream Cheese frosting. To make a little more decoration to the cupcake you can add seasonal sprinkles to them. Enjoy!

Yum, Hot Apple Cider Strudel

Nothing can chase away the fall’s chill like this steamy, spicy hot cider drink. This drink goes well after a hayride, hike or any fall outing events with friends and/or family. This delicious drink calls for 4 to 5 ounces of apple cider; ground cinnamon, powdered sugar, only one apple, caramel apple dipping sauce, and ice.  Fill a shake with a little bit ice and add about 4 ounces of apple cider to the shaker. And for adults you have the option to ad one ounce of vodka to the mix to spice it up a little bit more, if you’d like. Next you want to add one dash of ground cinnamon. Then strain the mix into a microwavable-safe container. You want to microwave until hot but not boiling. Therefore heat it up for roughly 30 seconds. Next grab a coffee mug or any other type of hot beverage glass and rim it with powdered sugar. After you have rimmed the glass with powdered sugar, transfer the warm beverage to the glass/mug. Now cut an apple slice and coat it with the caramel apple dipping sauce. Lastly garnish with a second dash of cinnamon and with the coated caramel apple slice. This hot apple cider drink goes good with fall for various reasons. Not only can you make it into a single but into a party drink as well. Instead of having a party punch bowl you can substitute the party punch with the hot apple cider strudel. The plus side about this drink it can be both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, making it good for underage kids.  This drink recipe has received nothing but outstanding reviews. People have anonymously stated that it’s very yummy and delicious! Sit back and relax next to a cozy fire and sip on some hot apple cider Strudel, and enjoy!

Apple Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream to Kick Start your Fall Season

Need something to jump into the fall season? Well why you don’t start out with some yummy fall desserts. You should try Apple crumble Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream. This recipe yields 4 servings. This is a very quick dessert to make and not difficult at all. The total time it takes to make is 25 minutes with 10 minute prep time and 15 minute cook time. The recipe calls for Granny Smith Apples, olive or canola oil, unsalted butter, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, granola, vanilla ice cream, and caramel sauce. To start off to your delicious dessert heat up your grill to a medium temperature. Then you want to make sure your 4 apples are sliced in half and then place them into a medium sized mixing bowl tossed with ¼ cup of olive or canola oil. Next place the cut-side of the apple down on the grill and grill them until they are nicely browned. Flip the apples over and continue grilling them on the skin side until nicely browned. After the apples have been completely cooked remove them and allow the apples to cool. When the apples are cooled enough to handle, cut the apples into wedges and make sure to core the apple too. Then with ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 4 tablespoons of light brown sugar and a ½ stick of melted butter toss the apple wedges with the mix.  With another bowl toss all of the remaining melted butter, cinnamon, light brown sugar, and granola together. Lastly take one large scoop of vanilla ice cream and place each scoop into 4 separate bowls and top it with the apple mixture. Then sprinkle the granola mixture over the top of the apple and drizzle it with the warm caramel sauce. Just a reminder that the caramel sauce is an option, it’s not mandatory. Now you can start your fall season off just the way you want it with your homemade Apple Crumble! ENJOY!
